Anya Devi Volz started performing as a child, in a community-based age. She continued to pursue the arts through her teens. Anya Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy, an actor. The parents of her are Dennis Alan Taylor an ex-banker as well as Jennifer Marina Joy psychologist. She is the daughter of an Argentinean of Scottish, English and Argentinean heritage. Her mother is Spanish-English. Taylor-Joy is one of the five children. Four were born to Taylor's father's previous marriage. They were initially from Buenos Aires, but moved to Victoria in the year she turned 6. According to Taylor-Joy the move was traumatic and she was unable to study English in the hopes of moving back to Argentina. Then she attended Queen's Gate School in which she took ballet classes and was involved in school-based plays. At the age of 16, she quit school she pursued an acting profession. At a very young age, Taylor-Joy knew that she wanted to become an actress and her dreams came true when she was approached for a modeling gig at the hands of Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
